o       ABI/Inform (ProQuest):  Contains full text scholarly journal articles as well as trade journals and industry newsletters, regional business news, magazines, and newspaper articles published worldwide (“Wall Street Journal” 1984-present). 

 

o       Business & Company Resource Center: Company & industry information, articles from over 1,000 business journals, as well as market share rankings, press releases, corporate histories, links to key trade associations, and investment reports. 

 

o       Business Source Premier (EBSCO):  Use to find articles about companies, industries, business conditions, economic trends, management techniques, and corporate strategies.  Contains DataMonitor reports with SWOT analysis, market research reports, working papers, industry profiles, country risk reports, case studies, and company profiles.

 

o       Hoover’s Online:  Excellent starting point for company information. Contains history, financials (includes historical stock prices), competitors, company news, and industry information.  The amount of information provided on companies varies; in general the larger the company the more coverage.  Use “Build a List” to search for companies by company location, size, industry, etc.

 

o       Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe:  Very strong in news coverage from major U.S. and foreign newspapers, trade publications, newsletters, news wires, TV/radio transcripts, company financial reports, polls and surveys, state and country profiles, state and federal laws, and court decisions.   

 

o       Mergent Online:  Most comprehensive financial information database.  Covers both domestic and international public companies.  Contains country information; and industry reports for 24 industry sectors, covering 4 global regions.  Allows advanced report-writing options and list-making capabilities.

 

  • PsycInfo (ProQuest):  Contains psychology abstracts from journals.  Covers the psychological aspects of marketing and advertising, as well as organizational behavior and organizational psychology.

 

  • Regional Business News (EBSCO):  Provides full text coverage for regional business publications, incorporating 75 business news magazines, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. Publications of local interest include Hudson Valley Business News.

 

o       ScienceDirect:  Full text Elsevier journals covering the social sciences and sciences.  Includes many scholarly journals in management, business, and accounting.
