Wireless Printing in the Library

Now you can bring your own laptop to the library and print your work using the campus print quota system. The wireless printing system allows you to set up printers and release your print jobs through special web pages.

NOTES :
  • Only use PRINTER 3 here in the library, only printer 3 is set up with all the drivers you need for the wireless printing system.
  • We recomend Firefox Go to http://getfirefox.com if you need it. It simplifies installation removing several steps.
Windows Vista Requires Extra Steps :
  • Update to Vista Service Pack 1
  • Plug into a power outlet and reboot Power off the laptop completely (Not hibernate or sleep mode) then restart and install

Windows 7 and Windows Vista 64bit edition
The normal set up does not work for these versions of Windows but at the library we have a set up disk that might help. Please ask for the disk at checkout or reference if you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista 64bit edition. NOT FOR XP

There are 3 simple steps

  1. Go to the wireless printing site https://athena.newpaltz.edu/ipp and bookmark it

    1. Click the iPrint Client link
    2. Save it to your PC and then run it by double clicking on the file you saved
    3. Close Firefox completely (Mac users have to both close and then QUIT) then start it again and go back to https://athena.newpaltz.edu/ipp
  3. Install LIBRARY PRINTER 3
    1. Scroll down the list of printers and click on LIBRARY PRINTER 3
