Artstor moving to JSTOR
Artstor is disappearing on August 1, 2024, but all content, functions, and features of the platform will be migrated to JSTOR. Nearly all of the 2.5 million images in Artstor are already available through JSTOR now, but this final phase in the transition will allow you to organize and share images there as you did in Artstor.
If you use image groups in Artstor, those groups will be copied over to JSTOR in February of this year (you will be able to use your Artstor credentials to log into JSTOR). For more information about how the image group migration will work, here is an outline. For more information about the migration generally, check out this overview, this updates page, and this guide. If you have put any personal images on Artstor that you wish to migrate, please check out this helpful video created by Visual Resources Librarian Susn DeMaio Smutney on moving these images into image groups so they can be migrated to JSTOR.
Many thanks to Librarian Kim Detterbeck at SUNY Purchase for creating a wonderful online guide on the Artstor to JSTOR transition, from which much of the above information has been sourced.
