Greetings everyone, and a special welcome to our new students and faculty!

We’ve worked hard to make the Library as welcoming and valuable to you as ever, despite the radically new circumstances this Fall.

The Library is Open, but with some important differences. Most importantly, ADVANCE RESERVATION IS REQUIRED TO ENTER THE BUILDING. (see more below, and on the website)

Many more online resources

The Library has worked with course instructors to make many more class materials available online than ever before. If you need help materials for class, or just want to learn more about the wonderful Library at your disposal, visit our Ask A Librarian page [https://newpaltz.libanswers.com/]. Live help is available there every day.

ANYONE can use this service! Students are especially encouraged to ask for help as soon as you think you might need a book, article, or just help exploring the enormous range of online resources the Library offers.

Limited Physical Space – RESERVED SEATING REQUIRED

Only the Main Floor is open, providing access to printing, scanning, desktop PCs and quiet seating. You may request most books, journals, DVDs etc. via Curbside Pick Up. For everyone’s safety, YOU MUST RESERVE SEATING IN ADVANCE. Complete instructions are available on the Library website and here:

Library Booking/Reservation System

Like all of us, we in the Library are still learning how to operate best in this radically changed world. Many once familiar services and resources will be different or temporarily unavailable. If you have a need that’s not being met, ASK! Our Ask A Librarian service is the best place to start for prompt responses to all kinds of questions. You may also contact the Dean of the Library, Mark Colvson, to express any concerns, kudos, or questions you may still have.

Thanks and best wishes for a productive semester.
